In line with NHS Shetland policy, and government advice, please could everyone to a Lateral Flow test (Home covid test) before attending Levenwick Health Centre. If your lateral flow test is positive, please inform us, and book a PCR test. Do not attend the health centre in person if this is the case.
As always, if you have symptoms of COVID infection, you should not do a lateral flow test, but instead book a PCR test.
We are advised to use the following as a case definition for COVID:
Possible COVID-19 case
A person presenting recent onset of ANY of the following cardinal COVID-19 symptoms:
new continuous cough OR
fever / temperature ≥37.8°C OR
loss of, or change in, sense of smell (anosmia) or taste (ageusia).
If you are showing symptoms of COVID 19 then please complete the self referral form which is available from the NHS Shetland home page – https://www.shb.scot.nhs.uk/ – There is an icon on the homepage which says ‘Self refer for COVID test if you have symptoms’ please click on that and complete the form, a coordinator will contact you directly with further information.
If you require to see a doctor or nurse today or tomorrow, please inform the testing co-ordinator when they phone you to book your test, so that they can get it processed in a swifter manner than otherwise.
